The Story behind this Cake
This is a two tier celebration cake made for a 3rd birthday. The cakes are vanilla sponge with raspberry jam and buttercream and covered with fondant/sugar paste.
The teddy bear is made from fondant/sugar paste. I cut into the fondant with very sharp scissors to create a textured "fluffy" look. The bottom tier is made up of rows of ruffles. It is the first time I have used ruffles on a cake and I bought a tutorial from Fancy Cakes by Linda, which shows step by step how to create the ruffles.
