A Christmas Ruffles Cake
|
The Story behind this Cake
I love Christmas! In Australia, Christmas is often on the beach or by the poolside in our bikinis as it's our summer and the hottest time of the year.
But I still love the traditional Christmas so I created a cake to suit the occasion. The ruffles are the ocean waves and the wreath as it is often seen on doors of homes. The cake underneath was a custard-filled vanilla cake covered with rustic-spread buttercream. It's always nice to have something cool after the Christmas lunch! The ruffles are strips of fondant, ruffled using a ball tool. Learn Cake Decoration Online has a great tutorial on how to create ruffles. It's simple yet effect technique that can be suited to many occasions. You can visit www.learncakedecoratinonline.com to view the video. They also have many useful cake decorating and recipe videos on YouTube. The wreath was created by using a Daisy Plunger Cutter . While it was rather tedious, the effect was worth it! The berries are edible pearls 7mm. Share a cake by Lady SucreRecommended Video Tutorial How to Make Ruffles for Cake |
