Number Block Birthday Cake

The Story behind this Cake
Here is my latest chocolate cake creation for a 3rd Birthday Party, Number Block Theme Cake. This cake was designed for a girl who loves playing with anything to do with numbers, and blocks are her favourite. The cake theme and flavour was decided by the birthday girl and her parents.
The cake was designed by stacking 5 number blocks that were decorated with electric coloured thick borders and large numbers to go with the colour theme of the party, which was Electric colours (Neon green, purple, orange, blue & pink). The electric colours were created by mixing electric Ameri colours in my fondant base. For creating the blocks I baked sheet cakes and then made the individual blocks of 4" × 4" size by manually making cubes using a simple cutter. Each block was covered using white fondant. The blocks were then designed by gluing handcrafted cutouts of colorful borders and numbers. Sitting on the number blocks are the birthday girls favourite cartoon characters -Lalaloopsy, Angelina Ballerina mouse and BabyTV channels - Charlie. These were completely handcrafted with fondant by referring to images provided by the client. The female cartoon characters dress was selected to match the Neon Pink party dress of the birthday girl. The stars were made of colorful fondant and attached to the cake with 24 gauge wire. Share a cake by D Cake Creations |
