Spring Cake for Shoe Store Celebration
|
The Story behind this Cake
I have made this cake for a shoe store which was celebrating 10 years of activity. The owner wanted to create a spectacular showcase. I have proposed to furnish them with a cake made with shoes and accessories, and he was enthusiastic about the idea!
All customers and passers-by were fascinated! The cake was made of dummies because it remained in showcase for three weeks. But with the right support structure it could easily accomplished even edible. I love doing this work and I always try to do different things. I had never made a shoe and I did not have the mold. But this did not stop me. I took one of my shoes and put it in front of me. I started imitating the heel and so I went ahead. It is certain to improve, but I settled! Now I also wanted a shoe and a handbag. Everything was made manually without molds. They were smart enough so the basics of cake was simple with ruffle technique and I have added some flowers that bloomed in the meadows in Spring . I did not use special techniques or difficult, but I enjoyed it to assemble the cake in a different way to have fun and to entertain the beholders. The tools have used are for modeling.
