Fit to a Princess Shoe Birthday CakeRecommended Tutorial For High Heel Shoe Topper |
The Story behind this Cake
This cake was made for my sister-in-law who loves shoes!!
So when her 6 year old daughter (my niece) came to me and asked for a Princess cake for her mom, this is what I came up with! The bottom tier was a ruffle rose tier, which I learned to do from Sharon Wee's tutorial. The middle tier I kept simple with a fondant ribbon and edible hand painted brooch. The top tier was meant to look similar to a princess bodice with lace imprint. The gum paste shoe was inspired by a sugar shoe tutorial by Senator Cakes. The brooch on the middle tier and the shoe were made using the Karen Davies mold, which is awesome and can be used for so many things! The mold can be found on most cake decorating websites including Global Sugar Art. The cakes flavors were caramel cake with a layer of scratch carmel and carmel italian buttercream, all iced in chocolate ganache and covered in marshmallow fondant. I hope you like it!!
