The Story behind this Cake
I love this deep red rose romantic wedding cake.
The three tier cake consisted of a rich fruit bottom tier marzipanned and covered in fondant, the middle tier was a rich chocolate cake with galaxy chocolate ganache and fondant covering and the top tier was lemon with a lemon buttercream and covered in fondant. I do buy my fondant rather than make it myself and find that the best is covapaste as it is easy to use, not too sweet and goes on well.
The stunning roses were coloured with ruby sugarflair paste and made from gumpaste and the edible cake lace is claire bowman silver cake lace mix using her art nouveau hearts mat. This lace is so easy to use and the instructions are very clear.
